most student send notes in class whenever they're bored or whenever they simply want
to chat with someone. notes are also passed around during meals to someone at another table or further down their own table to communicate with them.

The grounds are a popular destination for students and teachers alike, since there's plenty to do, no matter the weather. Several classes are even held out here, much to the liking of students sick of the stale castle air.

The dark, brooding dungeons make a perfect companion to the equally dark and brooding Slytherins that reside so far below the surface. Once upon a time there was a basilisk down here, but it's long since dead, at least, according to the history textbooks.

Below the ground floor are a great many places, some of interest and some not. A couple classrooms are hidden down here, but the kitchens are far more fun.

Classrooms, offices, closets, you name it. In fact, the only part of the ground floor that students usually want to be in is the Great Hall, because most classes aren't that exciting.

The first floor is not particularly exciting, being mostly classrooms and a couple offices. It is popular opinion that the first floor doesn't hide any secrets, but they might be wrong about that.

Classrooms and offices are the majority on the second floor, though Moaning Myrtle's bathroom is here too, out of service as always.

Home to the hospital wing, classrooms, and the trophy room, the third floor is a site of much activity, if only during classes.

Both dreaded and loved, the fourth floor is home to several storage rooms and the library, among other less memorable places.

The fifth floor has been a favorite of many students at Hogwarts over the years, if only because of the expansive prefects' bathroom.

The sixth floor is home to mostly just classrooms, with the occasional miscellaneous room that no one ever seems to use.

The seventh floor is not a site of much activity, but hides secrets, as does much of Hogwarts.

Just about the only way to get from one floor to another is the staircases. But be warned- they like to move about, and you might not end up where you intended to go.

Rising above the rest of Hogwarts, the towers are usually full of students and birds alike.

The only all-wizarding village in of Britain, Hogsmeade is a popular destination for many, especially Hogwarts students.

only reachable through the leaky cauldron diagon alley is the main wizarding outlet for everything from wands, to brooms, and even ice cream but if walking along a muggle road doesn't grab you, you can always apparate, or use the floo network.

Whether you're home for the holidays or just feeling a bit homesick, just about everyone has a place they can call home.

Well known in the wizarding community and Muggle community alike, London is an important center of activity. Whether you're shopping in Diagon Alley or going to the Ministry of Magic, just about every wizard in Britain comes here at some point in their lives.

One of the most well-known wizarding prisons in the world, Azkaban is a dark and gloomy place, even at a time when the dementors have long since been removed from their positions as guards of the prison. Azkaban is often deemed impossible to break out of, though this is still not true, if one is clever about it.
